How to Recognize & Treat Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS)
Many are faced with chronic symptoms such as headaches, congestion, facial pain, fatigue, nasal blockage & discharge and dental pain. You may think these symptoms are related to allergies or a mild cold but you could be suffering from a condition known as Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS).
CRS causes inflammation or swelling in the tissue lining of the sinuses and can impact drainage and cause mucus and fluid buildup inside the sinuses. This can lead to chronic infection, inflammation & everyday pain.
One of the easiest ways to treat CRS is through topical sinus therapy (TST). This is prescribed topical medication that is applied to the inflamed membranes and infected sinuses located in the nasal cavity. A benefit of this treatment is that the medication is topical, which limits the amount that enters into the blood stream causing minimal side effects.
